Accommodation
On-campus Accommodation
International Student Apartments of Tsinghua University was established in 2004. It is located in the northeast corner of the campus, close to the northeast gate of the university (Zijing Gate). The on-campus apartments include Zijing Student Apartment Buildings No.19-23 and Student Apartment Building No.6 (Asian Youth Center).
In recent years, the university has been renovating existing apartments year by year to provide on-campus accommodation resources for more international students. Currently, the international student apartments can accommodate more than 3,000 students. In addition, the apartment has a work-study team - the International Dormitory Representatives.
The International Student Apartments provide two types of dormitories: double room (two beds in one room, shared bathroom on each floor) and triple room (three beds in one room, shared bathroom on each floor). In-room facilities mainly include air conditioning, internet, bedding and furniture. Public area facilities mainly include washing machines, dryers, study rooms, light sports spaces, etc.
Off-campus Accommodation
Due to limited amount of accommodation available on campus, some students will need to live off-campus and arrange accommodation in advance.
Campus Life
Tsinghua encourages diversity, where there are totally 263 registered student organizations on campus. They can be classified into 6 categories: culture, arts, sports, science and technology innovation, public welfare, andquality development. According to statistics, every undergraduate student has joined 2.4 clubs during their studies in Tsinghua, and the number of members of all student organization exceeds 34,000.
Also, Tsinghua is especially dedicated to physical education. Therefore, there are manysports meets and games for students to participate both individually or as a team. Ma Yuehan Cup is an annual sport meet on campus in which student representatives from all departments compete in the programs such as track and field,ball games, and even chess games.
